Nice to meet you

Hi, I’m Carmen Smith, OTD, OTR/L, and I’m the owner of Little Roots OT. I founded Little Roots out of a deep personal and professional passion for helping children build strong foundations for development and lifelong wellness. With a holistic perspective on how the whole body and relational environment influence feeding and function, I am committed to providing collaborative, comprehensive care for families.

I have been a practicing pediatric occupational therapist since 2018, earning my Doctorate from Northern Arizona University. My experience spans outpatient settings and in-home services for infants and toddlers (ages 0-3), working with diverse pediatric populations. I continually expand my expertise through advanced training in infant development, feeding, sensory integration, and more to offer individualized, neuro-affirming care.

Outside of work, I love yoga, hiking, film photography, making memories with loved ones, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and spending time by the beach!

My "Why"

My own wellness journey has fueled my passion for early childhood health and development. Through my personal experiences with airway health and individualized care, I’ve come to appreciate the power of a collaborative team in achieving functional goals.

This journey has deeply shaped my approach as a pediatric occupational therapist. I strive to be a guiding support for families—helping them uncover the root causes of their child’s challenges, navigate a path toward greater function, and work together to prevent future concerns. My mission is to help little ones feel better, move better, and connect more, so they can grow into the individuals they’re meant to be.

I’m grateful you’re here, and I look forward to collaborating with you and your family!
